Google is closing down its failed Facebook killer / social network, Google+.
With only 500,000 active users with an average engagement time of 5 seconds or less. The platform has been stalled in aol / myspace territory almost from its beginnings.
Google claims that it will continue to support Google+ networks for businesses currently stuck in 2011, lol.
Ben Smith, Google’s vice president of engineering was quoted on Monday saying…
“It has not achieved broad consumer or developer adoption, and has seen limited user interaction with apps.”
It is recommended if you or your clients have a Google+ account, that you now backup any data that you may wish to retain.
